14 Club Champions took part in the ‘Champion of Champions’ 18 hole stroke play competition at The Oxfordshire last Thursday and Oxford Ladies 2 handicapper Tilly Holder shot a gross 75, just 3 over par to take the title and the silverware.

Her closest rival was Frilford Heath’s Champion Jane Binning (2) who shot an 81 just pipping Lauren Jupp (5) from Studley Wood on count back.

Carwell’s, Susie Hogben, a 10 handicapper won the best nett prize 86-10=76, edging out County Captain Justine Lawrence (Henley), and Lauren Jupp on count back.

The remaining two Oxfordshire Champion’s Frilford’s Jane Binning and Studley Wood’s Lauren Jupp have both been knocked out of this National competition by players from Berkshire’s Bearwood Golf Club, a tight 9-hole parkland course near Sindlesham, not to be confused with Bearwood Lakes.

Jane played Lyne Morton in the 7th round of the Competition, loosing the match in twilight on the 22nd hole to just miss out progressing to the semis.

Lauren Jupp came up against Bearwood’s Alison Gee in the semi final round and played her match on neutral territory at Frilford Heath but lost 2/1 and the chance to play at The Belfry in the National Finals.
