Henley player and County Captain Justine Lawrence took the honours at OLCGA’S Silver Spring Meeting held at Tadmarton Heath last Thursday. Justine who was nursing a back injury managed to play below her 6 handicap and just pipped home player Maureen McInnes (13) into first place on 37 points. (Justine Captain’s the Oxfordshire Squad who will be taking part in County Week at Goring & Streatley Golf Club from 18th June through to 22nd June when Oxfordshire compete against the other 4 south east Divsion 1 counties namely Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Hertfordshire.
Chipping Norton’s junior Claire Reynolds (10) snatched 3rd place with 35 points on count back from Tadmarton’s Thelma Mawle (10). The Best Front 9 was awarded to Susie Hogben from Carswell who scored a very creditable 22 points and Jean Lees from Frilford Heath won the Best Back 9 with 21 points. The afternoon’s 9 hole Stableford Foursomes was won by a duo from The Springs Sue Arrighi and Wendy Nathan with 21 points. 2nd Frilford Heath’s Margaret Glennie and Angela Payne 18 points; 3rd Rachel Hall and Muriel Quinsac from Henley 17 points on countack from two pairs from Chipping Norton – Jane Sweeting and Mary Smith, Sheila Jones and Rhiannan Davies. |
