Bronze Championship results

The Bronze Quarter finalists played also played their matches on the Friday afternoon after having played their Qualifying competition at Burford at the beginning of April. Jo Collings from Tadmarton met Elizabeth Hardy from North Oxford and took full advantage of her home course knowledge to win her way through to the semis, As did Sue Piggott (Tadmarton) who beat Tracy Roberts from Oxford Ladies. Ruth MacKay from Carswell beat Jeanne Hill from Frilford Heath and in the final match another Tadmarton player Debbie Jardine defeated Elizabeth Downes from Frilford.

In the semis Jo Collings beat her fellow club player Sue Piggott to claim her place in the final but it took Ruth McKay three extra holes to win her match against Debbie Jardin.

The final was a closely fought match with Jo Collings of Tadmarton emerging the victor over Ruth MacKay from Carswell to claim the Bronze County Championship title.

Qualifying results

The results from the Bronze Championship qualifying round played at Burford Golf club on 1st April on a wonderful spring day are:

1st Scratch Elizabeth Hardy from North Oxford GC with gross 91on count back from
2nd Scratch Debbie Jardine from Tadmarton Heath GC also gross 91
3rd Scratch Ruth MacKay from Carswell GC with gross 93

1st Handicap and winner of the Bronze Medal for the best nett score was Sue Piggott from Tadmarton Heath GC with a nett score of 68
2nd Handicap Tracy Roberts from Oxford Ladies GC with nett 70
3rd Handicap Elizabeth Downes from Frilford Heath GC with nett 72

The prize for the best nett score for a player with a handicap of 26 or above was awarded to Marion Gaulter from Frilford Heath with a nett 74

The players with the best 8 gross scores going forward to play in the quarter final matches at Tadmarton Heath in the afternoon of 17 April are:
Elizabeth Hardy (NO) 91, Debbie Jardine (TAD) 91, Ruth MacKay (Cars) 93, Sue Piggott (TAD) 94, Tracy Roberts (OL) 96, Jeanne Hill (FH) 97, Elizabeth Downes (FH) 97 and Jo Collings (TAD) 98.
The two who also had gross scores of 98 but who lost out on count back were Ruth Stockford from Oxford Ladies and Sue Duncombe from Frilford Heath.
