County Shield at Chipping Norton GC

OLCGA’s major foursomes competition the ‘County Shield’. a foursomes stableford played over 27 holes, was held at Chipping Norton G C last week The Waterstock pairing of Jane Tavinor (12 handicap) and Liz Styles (17) remained the most consistent throughout the day despite the early wet and blustery conditions. They managed to notch up 51 points over the 27 holes, 2 points ahead of their closest rivals Maggie Edwards (14) and Clare Fox (13) from Oxford Ladies on 49 points. The Frilford pairing of Margaret Glennie (15) and Suzanne Simms (9) took the third slot with 48 points just pipping Maggie Findley and Tracy Roberts from Oxford Ladies and the Studley Wood pairing of Gabrielle Maxwell-Jones and Loretta Tona on count back.

Chipping Norton’s Jenny Reynolds 14) and Anne Johnson (13) won the morning prize for the best score over 18 holes with 34 points and Bernice Milne (22) and Alison Wood (17) from Badgemore won the prize for best afternoon 9 holes with 18 points..
