2010 Mixed OpenStudley Wood - May 6, 2010WINNERS: Pat Lacy & Gordon Nielson 41 points (on countback on last 9 holes) RUNNERS-UP: Cathy & Ron Nightingale 41 points THIRD: Jayne & John Laurie 40 points (on countback on the last 6 holes) FOURTH: Tracey & Keith Painton 40 points ReportOLCGA'S ANNUAL FUNDRAISER – A Mixed Pairs Better Ball Competition – was hosted this year by Studley Wood who kindly gave the Association courtesy of the course for the competition.The event, played last week, attracted a large field and the prizes were closely contended with count backs eventually determining the winners. First prize on 41 points went to the Frilford pairing of Pat Lacy and Gordon Neilson winning on count back from Cathy and Ron Nightingale also Frilford players. Third place with 40 points were Jayne and John Laurie from Chipping Norton, just edging out Tracey and Keith Painton (Drayton), over the last six holes, so they had to settle for fourth prize. There were three pairs on 40 points and Christine and Jim Pickering (Drayton) lost out on count back. Nearest the Pins were won by Gordon Neilson (Frilford) on 4th hole, Sally Adams, (Studley) on the 8th, Ian-Hamilton Smith 11th (The Springs) and John Summers (Frilford) on the 16th.
