The Seniors Cup competition held at The Springs in bright sunshine, firm conditions and tricky greens proved quite a challenge for the 73 players taking part with the CSS going up to 73.

Only a small minority returned stableford scores of 30 points or above with the star of the day former County President Ann Troughton from Oxford Ladies who notched up a  very creditable 39 points off her 18 handicap to claim the Seniors Cup. 

Ann’s closest rival was Lynda Lindsell (17hcp) from Studley Wood on 36 points.  Chipping Norton’s  Rhiannon Davies (12hcp) was third with 35 points and Andrea Lack (22hcp) from Carswell was fourth on countback with 34 points, just easing out two Frilford payers Fay Banks and Kris Bartlett.

The Crawley Cup for the Top Bronze Division player was won by Christine Clarke (21hcp) from Hinksey Heights also with 34 points.

Best front nine and best back nine prizes were won by two Studley Wood players both on 20 points  Janet Hubble (26hcp) and Elizabeth Wheeldon  (16hcp).
