General Conditions of Play for all Competitions


  • A current Active CONGU handicap certificate MUST be brought to all events.


  • Caddies are permitted in all Ladies’ competitions.  A player may not engage a professional golfer as a caddie.  A player is responsible for the actions of her caddie during the round of golf.  Caddies are NOT permitted in Junior competitions.


  • In all Ladies’ competitions, other than the exceptions below, players may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.  If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a Distance Measuring Device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect her play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature etc) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3 for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.  Players may NOT use a Distance Measuring Device in the County Championship/Mid-Silver Championship/Bronze Championship or any Junior event.


  • OLCGA competitions will be organised by the County in accordance with the EWGA policies on Equity and Equal Opportunities, Gender, Transportation and Anti-Doping (see www.englishwomensgolf.org
  • .

  • Buggies are permitted in the Seniors’ Cup, Seniors’ Spring 3-Ball Alliance, Mixed Open.  Other exceptions may only be made with the prior approval of the Competitions Secretary for a player or caddie who can provide a valid current medical certificate of disability (as per the EWGA Transportation policy)


  • Competitors who have to withdraw MUST notify the Competition Secretary before they fill the vacancy themselves as there may be a waiting list.


  • OLCGA cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury encountered at any OLCGA competition.

  • Competition start times will be sent to your Club Delegate approximately two weeks ahead of the competition.
