We want to ensure that girls in Oxfordshire have a fun, safe and positive experience when they play golf, so the Oxfordshire Ladies’ County Golf Association (OLCGA) is implementing the policies and procedures recommended by Children in Golf (CiG). This is a partnership of the key governing bodies and organisations in golf which have come together to ensure that golf provides a safe environment for children by making every reasonable effort to have a consistent message and workable guidance to anyone working with children and vulnerable adults (for further information go to www.childreningolf.org).
In April 2009, the OLCGA Executive Committee formally endorsed the County Child Protection Policy Statement and accompanying procedures, this can be found below. For a copy of the complete OLCGA Child Protection Policy and Procedures, please also see below. The OLCGA ensures that its regular volunteers and coaches are both CRB-checked and receive Child Protection training. We have now also appointed a County Welfare Officer (CWO), Joan Humpris, whose job is to provide a focal point and initial direction for both adults and children needing advice and for reporting any concerns. In addition, our County Junior Organiser (CJO), Suzy Smith, is also a 'nominated person' who can be contacted for information about the Child Protection Policy and Procedures. Useful contact numbers:
