'Team spirit was fantastic – I am proud of them all'

Oxfordshire finished tied third with Warwickshire on points (3), and fourth on matches won (22 to Warwickshire’s 26). 

Northamptonshire won County Week on countback from Buckinghamshire to go forward to represent the Midlands South Region at the County Finals in September. 

However, I feel that the actual result does not do us justice as, for the first time, we had played ourselves into a position to be contending for the overall win on the last day.

It has to be some consolation that even had we beaten Buckinghamshire we would still have lost to Northamptonshire on countback, as they won their match on the day.

Abi Laker achieved her County Colours, and points have been earned by Gemma (now on 7), Lydia (4), Kate (5) and Annie (7). 

Congratulations! Well done Oxfordshire! – and thank you to all the supporters, caddies and helpers who came to The Worcestershire, it was much appreciated.

I am very proud of the team – they played brilliantly all week and the team spirit has been fantastic.

It was a brilliant week, and we will be back to fight again for the Midlands South title at Mentmore in Buckinghamshire next year.
