A strong field of under 18’s from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire played at Tadmarton Heath in very difficult conditions for the BB&O Championship Title. Despite the conditions Tadmarton Heth proved to be a perfect venue for the event with tight fairways and fast greens, making the course a real challenge.
Playing on her home territory Oxfordshire’s Katherine O’Connor claimed the title by 5 shots from Beaconsfield’s Charlotte Nutt. Katherine, who plays off one, put behind her the disappointment of losing her Oxfordshire Championship title the previous week to Sam Round, another Tadmarton Heath player, by becoming the first Oxfordshire girl to retain the BB&O title. Katherine, who is 18 years old, has been the Oxfordshire Girls’ Champion for the past 3 years, started her round with 7 straight pars and held her advantage throughout. Buckinghamshire won the team event with Stephanie Gough, Charlotte Nutt and Alice Richards finishing ahead of the Oxfordshire team. |
