Congratulations to our Oxfordshire County Girls squad for winning the BB&O Team Stableford at Sunningdale Ladies on 21st February.
Our team – Claire Reynolds (Captain), Flora McPhail (V.Captain), Abi Laker, Gemma Clements, Nicole DuPlessis, Cara Gainer and Sunny Ricketts sporting their new county colours of black and white enjoyed a beautiful spring day and played some stunning golf. Thanks to Jayne Laurie (County Captain) for starting the girls off the first tee.
This event, played annually at Sunningdale Ladies Golf Club, is a 7 a side stableford with the best 6 scores to count for the team event. Oxfordshire’s combined total was 199 points and Berkshire were a close second with 194 points.
There are also prizes for the three best individual scores. These were won by Sunny Ricketts from Burford with a fabulous 39 points, Cara Gainer from Frilford Heath was second with 37 points and Berkshire’s Bethan Gunn was third with 36 points on countback from Eleanor Day.
Junior Captain, Claire Reynolds accepted the trophy from County President Jane Pezaro and in her speech thanked the club for their generosity in allowing the competition to be held on their course and expressed her gratitude on behalf of all the players to all the organisers and supporters.
