Oxfordshire Girls v Buckinghamshire Girls

The Junior Girls had an exciting match against Buckinghamshire on a very hot, sticky day at Waterstock Golf Club. 

Unfortunately the girls lost the overall match but Nicole Howlett (Chipping Norton) secured a win and Amy Gaertner (Burford) came back from dormey 2 down to halve her match.  Olivia Stone (Studley Wood) narrowly missed halving her match when her last putt missed the hole by an inch.  All 3 girls were playing in their first match for the county so we were delighted that they did so well and coped with the heat. 

We were pleased to have Anna Kirk (Chipping Norton) in the team but having not played for a while she had to give 13 shots to one of Buckinghamshire's rising stars and that was always going to be difficult to handle.  Helen Cross (Kirtlington), Alex Pitts (Chipping Norton) and Caitlin Shaw lost their matches by very narrow margins. 

Many thanks to Waterstock Golf Club for hosting the match and making the girls so welcome, to Janet Cross who came at the last minute to help with out and to all the girls for making themselves available for the match when they could have been watching England playing football against Germany!
