BB&O Folf Partnership's Champion of Champions

Studley Wood GC, Wednesday October 26

Victoria Hart (Hadden Hill GC and a member of the BB&O Golf Partnership’s Junior Academy at Studley Wood) took the girls 12 and under honours at the BB&O Golf Partnership’s Champion of Champions final at Studley Wood on Wednesday, October 26.

Throughout the six summer qualifying competitions she has been doing battle with Oxfordshire county junior team-mate Sally Ayres (Frilford Heath GC and a member of the BB&O Golf Partnership’s Junior Academy at Studley Wood) and the final proved no exception.

Ayres was leading for most of the afternoon with 37 points until Hart, in the second from last group, came in with 42 points to claim the category top prize.

Studley Wood junior Danielle Benger (a member at the BB&O Golf Partnership’s Junior Academy at Studley Wood) took the girls’ 9 holes stableford prize for those with no or a high handicap, scoring 21 points.
Eden Shields (Bicester GC and a member at the BB&O Golf Partnership’s Junior Academy at Studley Wood) scored 9 points in the same category.

In the girls 13 and over section Millie Anderson (Badgemore Park GC and a member at the BB&O Golf Partnership’s Junior Academy at Studley Wood) and Annabel Nash (Burford GC and also a member at the BB&O Golf Partnership’s Junior Academy at Studley Wood) both found it tough, finishing with 23 and 16 points respectively.

All competitors had qualified for the final by being placed in the top two in their respective categories or, if a player had already qualified, by being the next best placed competitor, at six junior competitions held across the three counties during the summer months.  The competition was only open to members of the BB&O Golf Partnership’s Junior Academies based at 14 centres across the three counties.

Prizes were presented by the new BB&O Golf Partnership ambassador Eddie Pepperell who has recently turned professional and is now beginning to make a name for himself.

Eddie himself came through the BB&O county coaching process and follows in the footsteps of the previous ambassador, Luke Donald, who is now the world number one.
