Nicola Sparks Junior Memorial Trophy

Burford GC, Thursday October 27

On a wet and blustery day 31 girls ventured out on to Burford Golf Course to play in the Nicola Sparks Junior Memorial Trophy.

18 girls played in the 18 hole competition which was won by Emily Melling from Chipping Norton with 38 pts. Runner-up was Harriet Hancock also Chipping Norton with 36 pts.

Seven girls entered the 9-hole competition for girls with handicaps of 37-54, Amber Phipps from Tadmarton Heath winning with 15 pts. The runner-up was Kate Hillas from Henley on 11 pts.

Six girls without handicaps entered the 6-hole flag competition.  Each girl was awarded 45 shots and the winner is the one with the most shots left.  Lauren Berry won with 11 shots left. The runner-up was Amelia Hanson with seven shots left.

Our thanks to Max Sparks for once again funding the event to allow the girls to play in Nicola’s memory and to Burford Golf Club for hosting it.  Also a very big thank you to all the helpers on the day.
