The morning foursomes saw the new partnership of Lydia Fox & Karen Pollard putting in a fine performance overcoming Holly Small & Sue Caley on the 17th. The strong partnership of Annie Gowing & Laura Watkins had a 4/3 win over Annie Bridges & Sue Kettler, Oxfordshire taking a 2-1 lead into the afternoon singles. Laura Watkins lost on the 18th to an extremely strong and impressive Jess Burrows. Lydia Fox put in a fine performance winning on the 17th against Holly Small – Lydia has won all 3 of her matches this season. 15 year old Abi Laker, with some magnificent golf, pulled off a brilliant 4/3 win over Sue Kettler. Outstanding Annie Gowing, not surprisingly, put in a first class performance beating Sue Caley 6/5. Annie hasn’t lost any of her 6 matches played this season – gaining 5 ˝ points out of a possible 6 points. Extremely impressive golf has been played by Oxfordshire so far this season and the two rising stars to watch are Abi Laker and Gemma Clements both 15 years old. A big thank you to the ladies who came to support the team in the afternoon – it certainly gave the team a lift for the singles seeing the black&white colours around the course. Also a big thank you to Sally Adams, Thelma Mawle and Penny Parker who came and caddied during the afternoon.
