A fantastic start to the season saw the new partnership of Kate Evans & Abi Laker easily winning their morning foursomes 5/3 over Gillian Cain & Lesley Ingram. Annie Gowing & Laura Watkins fought back from being dormy 3 to gaining a vital half. Oxon going into the afternoon 1 ½ - 1 ½.

The afternoon singles saw Laura Watkins having a scorching 8/7 win over Lesley Ingram. Laura was 7 up at the turn! Abi Laker won her singles match against Maddy Pearce 3/2. Abi, at just 15 years of age was the only player on the day to gain the maximum 2 points. Another junior, Gemma Clements (also 15 years old) was very unlucky to lose the 18th with her opponent unexpectedly chipping in. Annie Gowing beat Gillian Cain with a fine 3/2 performance. Overall result was a win to Oxfordshire in their first match within the new Midlands South Region.
