The final of the South Midlands 2nd team league was hosted by Oxfordshire at Badgemore Park GC on Thursday 11th August. Another incredibly hot day with amber weather warnings to add to the challenge! OVERALL MATCH RESULT: OXON 3 BERKS 6 OLCGA second 2nd team league match was held at Henley Golf Club on a sunny and warm day Berkshire started the day strongly winning all of their foursomes matches. Frustratingly, the momentum in the final holes of the last match was in Oxfordshire’s favour, but the birdie required on the last was not forthcoming! Congratulations to Grace Beardsley who won our Summer Meeting which was held at Drayton Park Golf Club on Monday 1st August.Drayton Park provided plenty of challenges with water, trees and long grass but this did not phase Grace who scored a handicap reducing 38 points, a very impressive score when you add in  the oppressive, muggy heat on Monday. Lara was second, followed closely by Freya, Bethany and Ava who was playing in her first 18 hole competition for the county.Congratulation...

Congratulations to Sienna Fegan-Smith who became our 2022 Pre-Handicap Champion and won the Junior Captain's Trophy on Sunday.This was a very close event with the winning score being decided on countback between 3 players and a difference of only 2 shots between all the girls. Well done to all the girls - they each played some wonderful golf shots on the Blenheim Course at Kirtlington Golf Club. Our thanks to Kirtlington and to all the adult helpers - we could not run these events without you!

Caroline & Freya came so close to victory in a very tight match and only lost by 1 hole. Niki was first out in the singles and always looked as though she would emerge the winner. Another day of Foursomes and Singles at Leamington & County GC for our squad and the weather is still being kind.Day 2 AM v BerkshireAmy & Viki led the way with a convincing performance earning them a 4&3 win. Caroline & Sarah matched that victory in style. In the singles, Niki halved her match and Kate, having led earlier, narrowly lost by 1 hole on the 18th. The icing on the cake for Oxfordshire was a 6&5 victory for Millie which means we won 3.5 to 1.5. Well done to all...
