Oxfordshire were in a playoff for 5th or 6th place against last year's champions Hereford and Worcester.

Phoebe Simons (Tadmarton Heath) led the team out and brought home the first point of the day beating a very talented opponent who was turning Pro the very next day. What a triumph! 

A superb win from Tracy Roberts (Frilford Heath), who barely dropped a shot all day, was quickly followed by another from Sarah Hillas (Henley), dropping in a putt from 10 foot on the 16th to take another precious point. 

Sarah Clarke (Clarkie, from Hadden Hill) was 1 up going to the 17th, and Lydia Avann (Tadmarton Heath) was in a tight battle in the final game of day. The pressure was on as with 2 holes to play the last 2 matches could have gone either way. 

On the 18th, a solid drive was followed by a 9 iron into the green and a 50ft putt to 6 inches away for par - what a time for Clarkie to clinch her 1st win in County Colours, securing the win for Oxfordshire. 

In the final match and with the 2 players unaware the overall match was over, Lydia had to play safe after hitting trouble on the 18th and then played arguably the shot of the day, leaving 4ft to make par which she did to secure a well earned half point.

Oxfordshire 2nd finished their year on a high note winning 4.5 to 1.5 a brilliant victory placed in a tremendous spirit by both teams.
