Captain’s Trophy Semi Finals & Finals 2019
Wednesday 24th July – Oxford Golf Club
Firstly I must thank Oxford GC for hosting this event as very short notice.
The semi finalists were: Tadmarton Heath GC, Feldon Valley GC, Studley Wood GC & Burford GC
First off were Tadmarton Heath against Feldon Valley, after some really tight matches, Tadmarton Heath managed a 2-1 win over Feldon Valley and were through to the final.
Burford fought very hard against a strong Studley Wood team but again with matches going to the 17th & 18th, couldn't hold them with Studley winning 2-1.
After a very swift turnaround the final was between Tadmarton Heath v Studley Wood.
The matches were nip & tuck for the first 9 holes and extremely close. The first match out was really close all the way round, ending on the 18th hole with a Studley Wood win. We then saw the other matches walking in and news that Studley Wood had won another match therefore winning 2019 The Captain's Trophy.
Many congratulations to all the semi finalists who qualified and had to play in very warm conditions!
Commiserations to Tadmarton Heath who put up a great fight and well done to the victorious team from Studley Wood GC - Trudy Sainsbury,Loretta Tonna, Bel Appleby, Keely Turner, Lynda Lindsell & Carrie Bates
