County Match Week Day 3

Only 18 holes of golf today to finish the tournament.

Day 3 Oxfordshire v Worcestershire & Herefordshire

Amy & Viki were our first foursomes pairing and despite a valiant effort lost 3&2 having clawed back from a difficult front 9. Caroline & Freya came so close to victory in a very tight match and only lost by 1 hole. Niki was first out in the singles and always looked as though she would emerge the winner. It was a nail-biting finish, but she won by 1 hole. Millie always leads by example and with her usual determination won her match 2&1. Luck was not on Kate's side in the third singles match as her opponent managed to birdie the 18th and claim the win.

The overall result was a win for W&H 3-2. With the exception of the Bucks encounter, our matches this week always reached the last couple of holes when we didn't manage to win them. That is a positive for the squad to take forward and build on.

Bucks remained unbeaten so will represent Midlands South Region in th County Finals. We wish them well.
