County Match Week Day 2

Day 2 AM - Worcestershire & Herefordshire
Today started slightly late with a rain delay following early morning downpours, along with thunder and lightning. Luckily the black clouds passed over quickly due to a strong breeze and things finally got under way only 15 minutes behind schedule. Caroline Johnson and Tracy Roberts led the way in the foursomes, and after going down early on battled hard to finally win on the 18th. The second foursomes pairing of Kate Evans and Elizabeth Ball played some spectacular golf leading to a fantastic 4&2 win - well done girls! The singles matches featured Megan Bishop, Mairi Weir and Millie Anderson. Megan faced a very strong opponent (plus 4 handicap) and managed to take her to the 14th before conceding defeat. Both Mairi and Millie fought to the very end in their matches, before both unfortunately succumbing on the 18th green.

Day 2 - PM Warwickshire
After the success of both the foursomes pairings in the morning, both went out again in the afternoon - and both pairs continued their winning streaks by finishing victorious on the 17th hole. Whilst the singles matches of Mairi Weir and Sarah Barter both ended on the 14th hole with defeats, despite some great play by both of them, the last match out (Millie Anderson) was again very tight and went all the way to the 18th, where unfortunately Millie narrowly lost out to her opponent.
