We had a wonderful day yesterday at Burford Golf Club hosting The Nicola Sparks' Memorial Competition with 15 girls playing in either the 18 hole or 9 hole event.

Conditions were tricky - drizzle early on but luckily changing quickly to a beautiful sunny day - however any ball straying slightly off the fairway was difficult to find under the leaves. This was a day to hit the ball straight!!!

Grace Beardsley clearly managed this with a winning score of 37 points in the 18 hole stableford competition (including a birdie for 4 points) - congratulations Grace! Close behind on 35 points were Phoebe Simons and Lara Murphy with Elizabeth Ball taking 4th spot with 34 points!

In the 9 hole competition first place went to Sara Benchiba-Savenius and second to Amelia Sambrook; we were also delighted to welcome Coco Mu who was playing in her first county competition.

Congratulations to all the girls who played yesterday - as always in a very positive manner and showing great sporting behaviour.

We were very grateful to the lovely ladies from Burford and the junior committee who walked with various groups to mark their cards. Thanks also to our Junior Captain, Freya, who was unable to play but also helped out by marking a card. Many thanks to our President, Heather, who once again came along to support the girls.
