Spring 3-Ball Alliance at Drayton Park Golf Club – 11th May 2026

The Spring 3-Ball Alliance at Drayton Park on May 11th was very well attended with 15 teams of 3 ladies representing 11 Oxfordshire Clubs. Although we couldn’t control the weather which was unseasonally chilly for May, the teams very much enjoyed the challenging hazards of the course at Drayton Park and meeting fellow golfers over food in the bar afterwards.
The winners were: Mary Phipps, Claire Mottershead and Kate Paton (above) from Tadmarton Heath
Golf Club with 74 points. They won a £30 M&S voucher and sleeve of OLCGA branded
Titleist golf balls each.
In Second place were: Jane Tavinor, Clare Fox and Susie Dunston (below) from Oxford Ladies with
69 points. They won a sleeve of OLCGA branded Titleist golf balls each.
Many thanks to: the Groundsmen at Drayton Park for a well-maintained course, to Ian in the
Drayton Park management team for allowing us to use their facilities for the day, To our
President Christine Bishop who valiantly stood on the 1st tee for 2 hours in freezing
conditions to see all the teams off, to Lorraine Jones, Susie Hogben and Jill Northover for
managing the ball sweep, “meet and greet” and help with score entry and finally to all the
generous ladies who contributed to the ball sweep which raised £100 for the Captain’s
Charity, Katharine House Hospice, Adderbury, OXON.
