We were delighted to be able to host our Junior Girls’ Championship at Henley Golf Club and extremely grateful to Henley for accommodating the change in date and allowing our 14 girls to play their challenging course.   The afternoon began in glorious sunshine, but it was not long before heavy showers cooled everyone down – despite the change in temperature the girls remained cheery throughout! Our 2021 Girls’ Champion is Grace Boag-Matthews ...

The second team league got underway on Sunday 30th May at Bagdemore Park, where we took on Buckinghamshire. Training at Badgemore. On the 8th May the squad finally enjoyed our first training session with Martin Woodbridge at Badgemore Park. Despite a terrible forecast and heavily laden skies the weather was very kind. 13 members of the squad enjoyed some short game and bunker tips followed by afternoon foursomes. It was great to see the squads competitive edge intact but even better to see lots of smiling faces. It was great to be back :)

Well done to all competitors who endured the terrible weather conditions on Wednesday and those conditions turned out to be the cause of the closure of the course. The competition committee decision was to award the winners over a round of 14 holes, which everyone had completed.  For handicap purposes rule 3.3 was applied over the 18 holes. The winner of the Bronze Champion Cup goes to Ruth Mackay from Drayton Park and the Bronze Medal winner goes to Penny Tucker, also from Drayton Pa...

Our annual, invitational match against the Oxfordshire Boys is always an enjoyable encounter and this year was no exception. As ever, the match was keenly fought by both sides and 2 - 2 was a fair & amicable result. Some wonderful golf shots were played by all players which is very promising for the year ahead!  Many thanks to Kirtlington Golf Club for being our hosts.

Congratulations to Ava Fegan-Smith who this week won the Junior British Masters Under 12  9 hole competition on the Robert Rock Tour. The event was was held at The Belfry and Ava played the Brabazon Course from the red tees. The course has lots of water and bunkers to negotiate but clearly these were not a problem for Ava! It was very close for all 9 holes but Ava won on the 9th - a par 4 hole of 348 yards where she sunk a 7 foot putt for a 5 nett eagle! Ava is currently top of the Order...
