The 1st team pulled off a resounding victory, and their second win of the season, against Wiltshire County on Sunday 7th May at Henley Golf Club. The scores were level after the morning foursomes with the new pairing of Kate Evans and Mairi Weir bringing in a winning point. The sun came out in the afternoon for the singles and OLCGA won 4 out of the 6 matches against stiff competition. Thank you for all of the support both in person and on-line - the team really appreciates it!
Despite heavy overnight rain, day 2 of the Bronze Championships saw the four semi-finalists play in the morning. The course, at Studley Wood, held up well with the sun shining through for the final match in the afternoon. This proved to be a close fought match with Julie Wong holding on to win the final against Madeleine Deller. Congratulations to Julie on her winning her first major cup.

Yesterday we held our annual Spring Meeting - our first competition of the year - at the Springs Golf Club.We had a disappointingly small field of entries but as always the girls that played made up for this in their sporting and supportive attitude and in the wonderful golf shots they played. The weather was mainly kind, with only short showers of drizzle, but these did not subdue the girls. Our Spring Champion, with a stunning score of 45 points was Charlotte Gosling-Evans, playing in her...
On a soggy and wet day (and golf course) the 1st team kicked off their competitive season with a 5-3 victory over the UK Armed Forces in singles matchplay. It was great to see Megan and Elizabeth fitting seamlessly in to the senior squad and playing really good golf. Elizabeth showed great grit and determination to stay in a match that had gone against her early on. Megan was playing an ex-OLCGA squad member but she maintained good focus and concentration throughout. The match was played ...
Sunday the 19th of March saw the 8th annual match between Oxfordshire County Junior girls and Kirtlington and Tadmarton boys, held at Tadmarton GC this year. It was brilliant to see so many people involved, with 5 pairs matches taking to the tee. It was a bit of a chilly start, but the weather was relatively kind, and the course was in really nice condition, especially for this time of year. The girls pairs were a great mix of more experienced players, and those newer to the match play si...
