After two keenly fought days of golf, we have made it to day 3 of the County and Mid-silver Championships. The semi-finals are underway: For the county championship we have: Kate Evans vs Millie Anderson and Elizabeth Ball vs Megan Bishop For the Mid-silver: Sue Stewart vs Fays Banks and Jill Purdy vs Penny Kendall The winners play in the finals, this afternoon at 14.20 and 14.30
Kate Evans and Megan Bishop played some amazing golf to win their semi-final matches in the County Championship. In the Mid-silver semis, Fay Banks and Penny Kendall emerged victorious both managing to chip in on their 1st extra holes! The finals were closely contested with Megan Bishop becoming a worthy County Champion and Fay Banks winning the Mid-silver Championship.

The final took place today at Burford of the Bamberger Cup. As you can see and as you know from the flooding all around Oxfordshire, it was not the best day to play golf let alone a match-play final. Barbara Lowe (Tadmarton Heath) and Liz Nelson (Witney Lakes) managed to keep smiling and carry on with Barbara winning on the 14th. Both deserve a medal!
Congratulations to our County Captain, Millie Anderson (Badgemore Park), for winning Best Gross with a score of 75 in the inaugural Centenary Trophy competition. Caroline Johnson (Tadmarton Heath) came second with 82. The Under 21 Best Gross was Amelia Seal (Shrivenham Park) who played well under her handicap with a score of 80.With a score of 76 Caroline Woodward (Feldon Valley) won the Best Nett prize. Congratulations to Frilford Heath GC and their team of Julie Monk, Rachel Downey & Jacqueline Topliss on winning our Autumn Centenary Alliance @ Huntercombe GC with a score of 85 points. Congratulations to North Oxford GC on winning the Ann Starkey Trophy. The afternoon final against Feldon Valley GC was played in great spirit by both teams despite some heavy rain. Fortunately, the sunshine eventually broke through.In the morning semi-finals North Oxford won against Oxford Ladies and Feldon emerged the winners against Studley Wood.Well done to everyone who played and our grateful thanks to Feldon Valley GC for hosting the day long county event.
