Update from President

Following on from my last message we are now back on our lovely courses, albeit social golf with restrictions, but I am sure you will all agree we do not mind, better than no golf!It is still difficult to predict ahead and because of that we have sadly taken the decision to cancel the County Shield on July 16 at Huntercombe. Refunds will be processed for those that had already entered. EG hope to run events from the end of July, but no certainty, all depends on this ghastly virus. We do h...

Tribute to Chris Reeves

Tribute to Chris Reeves

A lot of OLCGA members will have known Chris, a very keen golfer who gave so much back to Club & County. Lady Captain at Chipping Norton Golf Club (as it was then) in 2005 and following that EG Rep for OLCGA for several years followed by County Delegate representing Cotswolds Club. Chris was always involved with OLCGA knock out competitions, representing her club, either by playing or organising – very often both. Chris was a highly respe...

MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT

Message from your President Sadly all county fixtures have been cancelled until the end of June due to the Coronavirus, this includes all knockout competitions. I informed all delegates this week to communicate this with club members, we certainly are in unprecedented times and will keep you informed as and when. Meanwhile all keep safe and hopefully we can keep playing, albeit car park to course golf.

Squad training

 Squad training

Our first training session of the 2020 season at Fridlford Heath G.C. with our new coach Martin Woodbridge. A great start with 13 players turning up for short game coaching followed by foursomes practice. Although it was cold & frosty the sun did appear warming us all up. So nice to see everyone after a long break and now looking forward to the new season.

Bamberger Knockout Final

The Bamberger final was played at the Cotswolds Club in torrential rain. The finalists were Christine Bishop (Bicester) and Muriel Williams (Tadmarton). The course was in immaculate condition and held up so well considering the rain, with good golf played by both. It was nip and tuck all the way, Christine going 1up on 17 to emerge the winner 2up. Losing semi-finalists were Valeska Maclachlan (Henley) and Derryn Cope (Studley Wood). Many thanks to Cotswolds Club for hosting the final and K...
