Charlotte Wins The Spring Meeting!

Yesterday we held our annual Spring Meeting - our first competition of the year - at the Springs Golf Club.We had a disappointingly small field of entries but as always the girls that played made up for this in their sporting and supportive attitude and in the wonderful golf shots they played. The weather was mainly kind, with only short showers of drizzle, but these did not subdue the girls. Our Spring Champion, with a stunning score of 45 points was Charlotte Gosling-Evans, playing in her...

1st Team victory vs UK Armed Forces @ The Caversham GC 18th March

On a soggy and wet day (and golf course) the 1st team kicked off their competitive season with a 5-3 victory over the UK Armed Forces in singles matchplay. It was great to see Megan and Elizabeth fitting seamlessly in to the senior squad and playing really good golf. Elizabeth showed great grit and determination to stay in a match that had gone against her early on. Megan was playing an ex-OLCGA squad member but she maintained good focus and concentration throughout. The match was played ...

Oxfordshire Girls Maintain Their Unbeaten Record!!

Oxfordshire Girls Maintain Their Unbeaten Record!!

Sunday the 19th of March saw the 8th annual match between Oxfordshire County Junior girls and Kirtlington and Tadmarton boys, held at Tadmarton GC this year. It was brilliant to see so many people involved, with 5 pairs matches taking to the tee. It was a bit of a chilly start, but the weather was relatively kind, and the course was in really nice condition, especially for this time of year. The girls pairs were a great mix of more experienced players, and those newer to the match play si...

Junior Christmas Jamboree!!

Junior Christmas Jamboree!!

We were delighted to be able to host our fun Christmas Scramble at Kirtlington Golf Club on the Blenheim Course for the first time since 2019. A dry day beckoned though the wind was biting, and this encouraged a speedy nine holes of golf! Everyone was in good spirits, and we had an amusing array of Christmas hats and jumpers!! In first place were a team of juniors - Coco Mu, Stella Zhang and Carson Zhang. Second place went to the Fegan-Smith family and third place to the Bauder family. Andy E...

We had a wonderful day yesterday at Burford Golf Club hosting The Nicola Sparks' Memorial Competition with 15 girls playing in either the 18 hole or 9 hole event.Conditions were tricky - drizzle early on but luckily changing quickly to a beautiful sunny day - however any ball straying slightly off the fairway was difficult to find under the leaves. This was a day to hit the ball straight!!!Grace Beardsley clearly managed this with a winning score of 37 points in the 18 hole stableford co...

Bamberger Final 2022

Bamberger Final 2022

The final took place today at Burford of the Bamberger Cup. As you can see and as you know from the flooding all around Oxfordshire, it was not the best day to play golf let alone a match-play final. Barbara Lowe (Tadmarton Heath) and Liz Nelson (Witney Lakes) managed to keep smiling and carry on with Barbara winning on the 14th. Both deserve a medal!
